Has Anyone Cracked CAT in 3 Months? YES!! 🙌 With ONLY 15 Important CAT Topics 😮

CAT in 3 Months is Possible - Proof
Hi guys and welcome back to the channel.
This is that stage of CAT preparation
where a question comes to mind that
is it possible to crack the CAT exam in three months?
Not even CAT, a lot of you might be thinking,
can I get admission to any of the top 20 B-schools?
In that case,
let me first show you a blog post,
by 3 students of top B-schools here.
They have cracked the CAT exam by starting within 3 months.
In this post, someone like you asked this question
can the CAT exam be cracked in 3 months?
So they have been told by a student of TISS, a student of XLRI,
and a student of IIM Shillong
the CAT preparation strategy they used.
They cracked it in three months and so can you.
From these three responses and the experience of many students,
I understood one thing.
If you want to crack the CAT exam in the given time
it is very important for you to prioritize
those chapters and the syllabus,
which are repeated again and again in the CAT exam
and carry more weightage.
For that, I am showing you the syllabus of CAT 2023.
In fact in the 3 sections inside this particular syllabus,
I am going to highlight the
chapters that come most frequently in this exam.
and the ones that have the highest weightage in the CAT exam.
I recently conducted a Zoom session
with the CAT 2023 aspirants.
I have noticed in this Zoom session,
there were 2 types of students.
One who have already started their preparation and
have also completed their syllabus.
But they are not getting marks in their mocks
and are feeling stuck.
Others are those category of students,
who have either started in July or August,
or are still planning to start,
and have not started yet.
They need a plan so that in the given months
they can crack the CAT exam.
The solutions to both these strategies and problems are completely different.
That is why, in this video,
I will share a plan for those who have just started
or started 1 or 2 months ago.
For them, it is still essential to cover the basic syllabus.
But those students whose marks are not improving
they can wait for 1 or 2 more days.
The next video will be published regarding
how you can improve your marks?
So let's start with those 5 questions asked in the Zoom call
whose answers I will also share with you
because you may not have attended that Zoom call.
Should You Buy a Crash Course
The first question I was asked was
whether we should take coaching at this time or not.
Many coaching institutes must have launched their crash courses
and it was a common question
should I take coaching at this time?
Or should prepare for the next year's reattempt?
First thing, when any coaching institute launches a crash course
that courses are kind of fast paced.
This means that they tell the basics
but will not cover them in depth.
Another thing you need to know
that any person who can take next year's CAT exam
no need to take a crash course right now.
This means if you have such a situation that
you have to be admitted to any MBA college this year.
In that case, investing in a crash course can help you.
So one of the options for these crash courses
is iQuanta's Crash Course which you can consider
that is going to start in the month of September.
They have partnered with me for this video
to inform you that they have only 250 seats.
For their different sections
they have launched different initiatives.
For Quant, they would do a Mega Marathon
in which each topic will be practiced with 100 questions.
Similarly, for Resioning section,
they have launched LRDI 70.
which will be a special series dedicated to this section.
For verbal,
they made videos on different RC
through which you can practice different topics of RC.
Inside this, you will also get the iCAT mocks
which are their Artificial intelligence-based mocks for CAT 2023.
Apart from this,
you will get the facility of 24x7 doubt solving
in which, your questions will be resolved within 15 to 30 minutes
Its timetable will look something like this
September onward,
you will have a conceptual class from 7 to 9 pm.
And from 10 to 12 at night
you will have an application class.
After that, throughout the day you will do your rigorous practice.
You will have a mock test over the weekend.
This means, that every week you take a mock
you will attempt 15 to 20 mocks
so that you become efficient in attempting the mocks
as well as analyzing them.
If any of you wish to join iQuanta's crash course,
I will add the details as well as its link in the description
by checking pinned comments and descriptions,
you can also check all their other courses
or links to the Facebook group.
How to Cover Syllabus in Less Time
The second question that was asked to me on the Zoom call
is a very interesting situation.
So many students said that
because the syllabus of Quant is very detailed,
that syllabus is bothering us.
If there are 5 topics
we are not able to complete any one topic properly.
We are done with only the Arithmetic topic,
and the topic of Geometry and Number systems has been haunting us
that how will we cover the complete syllabus.
It has a very simple solution,
approach it in such a way
that first, you complete your syllabus.
after that solve the concepts of your syllabus.
So just take a chapter,
watch its videos and solve past year's paper.
Take the second chapter and do the same exercise.
When the full syllabus is covered
after that start practicing questions for each chapter.
This strategy is called, covering the length,
and not the depth.
Basically, we are not covering the depth of any chapter
and not making any chapter solid.
We have just covered lengthwise our syllabus.
Confidence comes from that,
we get an idea of whom
we are going to fight.
I know how much is the syllabus and what is it like.
And I want to be strong in every chapter
The third question was asked to me
When Should You Take Mocks
that I am scared to attempt mocks because
I have just started my syllabus.
If I have started in August
and if I will take mock, I will be very scared.
When you take the first or second mock,
and take it with the intention that you get to know
actually how the CAT paper looks.
What exactly is CAT all about.
Those who have completed their syllabus
at this point in time when they are taking mocks
their criteria will be that they should know
in which order do they have to attempt the paper,
or how much time to give per question
what we call an attempt strategy.
So you don't take any mock from 1st to 13th September.
After giving the first 2 mocks,
try to complete your syllabus first.
How Much Percentile to Target
The next question was asked to me,
It was asked by all the students in different variations.
I was tired of answering this,
which was,
If I have X, Y, Z marks in 10th, 12th or in graduation,
and I want to go to A, B, C college,
how much percentile do I need in the CAT exam.
If I tell you that you will need this much %tile.
Suppose, you need 95%tile
can you ensure
that I will come with exactly that much paper attempt?
You should prepare as much as possible
Your attempt will be 100%
and your preparation will also be 100%
of your capacity and your ability.
After knowing how much effort you have to put
for how much percentile
what will change?
If you are now giving your 100%
you will get the same percentile as it is.
You can never be certain about this exam
until the the day.
The final question was asked to me regarding the profile.
Profile, Quitting Job & Gap Years
It was in the minds of many students
whether they should quit their jobs at this time.
The next 3 months should be devoted
to CAT preparation.
In that case, I recommended to them,
If they are not happy with their jobs
or anyway want to switch from their job.
In that case, it is a good idea to leave their job right now
rather than 3 months later.
Many students are working professionals.
When they prepare for the CAT exam,
they leave their job exactly at this time.
So that he can devote more time to CAT preparation.
In a follow-up to this, I was asked
that if we leave the job,
or anyway have graduated
or have a gap year of 1 and 2 years,
will that gap year affect our admission or placements?
I would like to answer this once and for all,
a gap year does not matter at all during admission,
or your final placements.
No one asks about them
And even if someone asks, you can justify by sharing
that you were preparing for the CAT exam as simple as that.
Last year I got a comment on this channel.
There was a student who got admitted to TISS
despite a 5-year of gap.
So don't worry at all about your gap years
they don't matter.
So this is my suggestion to all of you.
We have to complete limited chapters by September
and to get stronger,
have to take mocks in October and November.
Apart from this, if any question is coming in your mind
you can always comment below.
All the future Zoom calls,
will be mentioned in the IG broadcast group.
You can join it on Instagram
or I will add it to the community post on YT.
Stay tuned for that guys and thank you so much for watching this! :)
